Hi folks! I’ve been revamping some ID badge mockups and want to refresh the icon set for fields like name, date, and signature. I’ve noticed some minimalist line icons trending, while others use filled, colorful glyphs. What icon styles do you prefer for ID layouts these days, and why?

I’m just chiming in to say I love little icons—they make info pop. Even on a tiny card, a small person icon next to the name looks neat. I don’t know much about design trends, but I always appreciate a clean look when I’m reading my ID badge.
I recently designed membership cards and grabbed a template pack from dl template free that included simple placeholder icons. I replaced them with a sleek outline set I found online, then adjusted stroke weight to match the card’s border thickness. The result felt modern and clean. I’ve seen some designers go bold with solid icons in brand colors, which can also work if you want more personality. Personally, I find consistent line icons keep things professional and unobtrusive. Using vector icons also keeps files lightweight and scalable for print or digital use.
