Wells Fargo blocked my checking account after I reported some unauthorized charges. I provided screenshots, police report, everything they asked for, but they still denied the claim and said the charges looked valid. My account ended up overdrawn, and now I can’t even access my own funds. Tried reaching customer service multiple times, but I keep getting bounced around or ignored. I’m starting to feel like they just don’t care. Has anyone else dealt with something like this recently? What actually works to get a refund or get your account back?

That’s almost the same thing I went through last fall. Someone made two strange purchases with my debit card info, and when I flagged it, Wells Fargo froze the account right away. At first I thought it meant they were investigating, but then came the email saying they wouldn’t be refunding the charges because “no error occurred.” I wasn’t even in the same state when those payments happened. In frustration, I ended up checking out https://wells-fargo.pissedconsumer.com/review.html , and it was honestly a relief to see I wasn’t the only one. A bunch of people talked about their claims being denied even after sending full documentation. One story matched mine almost exactly — account frozen, no refund, no help. I filed a complaint with the CFPB and attached the case number in another letter to Wells Fargo. Weirdly enough, two weeks later, the refund finally showed up without explanation. So don’t give up. Go public, keep records, and use every external complaint channel you can.
